I. Welcome Message

On behalf of the organizing and technical program committee, we would like to welcome you all coming to take part in the First International Conference on Control, Automation and Information Sciences (ICCAIS 2012)

We have the total number of 74 papers out of 158 submissions to be presented at ICCAIS 2012. There are 3 plenary speakers, Prof. Arnaud Doucet, Prof. Liuping Wang and Prof. Martin Adams, 2 invited speakers, Prof. Hyochoong Bang and Prof. Pierre Del Moral who are all internationally prominent scholars in their respected areas. The number of oral presentation sessions is 17 in total.

This year, we observe strong presence of interests in robotics, vision, sensor fusion and target tracking, control theory and application as well as unmanned vehicle systems. It is our hope that ICCAIS 2012 presents sustainable and excellent forum for the exchange of recent accomplishment, innovative ideas and opinions on future research directions in the study of control, automation, robotics as well as information sciences.

We hope every participant from oversea countries have fruitful technical discussions and enjoyable experiences during your stay in Ho Chi Minh City. Once again, we would like to express our in-depth appreciation to the plenary and invited speakers for their willingness to deliver their prestigious lectures, to all the participants for their strong support, and to the organizing and technical committee for all their valuable hardwork. This will be a strong instrument and motivation for ICCAIS to be organized as an annual event in the years to come. We do hope that all of you will have a rewarding and memorable experience at ICCAIS 2012

Thank you very much
